Poverty, Wealth, And The Believer

Life in our world has everything to do with money. Are you afraid to be poor? Are you afraid to be rich?

Are you afraid that you may become neither poor nor rich and yet struggle to pay your rent, buy food and have a few days vacation each year?

Do you struggle to live at the edge of your means to "get ahead", and yet live one payday away from disaster if you should get an unexpected hospital bill?

These thoughts and these questions come to believer and unbeliever alike. For the sincere believer, it should be more than this.

A Prayer

May the Lord help me and us all to be honest with Him.

May we not excuse ourselves or put Him "on hold" until we are comfortable with our material situation.

For the sake of our accountability in judgment regarding the coming kingdom's reward or loss, we are in great need to be severe with ourselves and easy on others.

Even as we study, read and pray through these words, let's pause and unconditionally surrender all we are, all we have and all we can do...to Him...for His sake...for His body.

Let us individually and together aggressively pray,

" Lord, we have nothing in us and we have nothing around us that will keep us from praying with passionate words, with a burdened heart, and a faithful spirit that You are the Treasure we seek, even while we minister to You by being a voice to the unbelievers around us and fellow-servants with others to the church.
