Mourn, But Not As Do
Others
As
organ played and seats were filled
As friends were hushed and tears were spilled,
His dear folks came as front row filled,
And loving hearts with grief were chilled
The
claws of death were not concealed
While yearning minds the facts repealed;
But when I saw that casket sealed
My heart, now soft, so quickly kneeled.
But
through it all life was not killed
As Pastor showed Christ's blood was spilled,
And death's cruel quest could not be filled,
For life through death the cross had willed.
So,
watching there my family's shield
As peaceful tears did vict'ry wield,
Through potter's clay gold was revealed,
And midst the pain the triumph healed.
